GenDisasters

No, it's not having your dog eat all your genealogical notes or a computer glitch wipe out months of family data....

It's a slightly morbid, but fact of life, that horrible events and natural disasters have shaped the lives of our ancestors (as they have our own lives.)

As the page's subtitle says: "Events That Touched Our Ancestors' Lives." It's stories like ones posted today, of tornados, airplane crashes, forest fires and children drowning while ice-skating. The stories are organized by disaster, state (including Canada) or year (which, at least, go back into the 1800's.)
